The images and motifs from different cultures are used prolifically in surface design. Everything you see whether it is on a shirt or curtain or wallpaper, card or even the dishes you use everyday or the scrubs in medical offices has motifs from all over the world. The excitement of this offers ones a plethora of material to use and in the process, if your are curious you slowly gain in knowledge about many different places. The use of the various motifs can easily be comprehended when you visit a fabric shop. Row after row of images on all types of material. One influence from Asia another from Europe, another from South America.

These are some of the directions I was exposed to during the time I was involved with surface design. The inspirations come from Africa, Australia and South America. If I had more than one life time, I would plunder it all with a brush and gouache.

All my work is now being represented by Creatif Licensing and interested parties should contact Marcy Silverman, VP.
The images show here are a sampling of the collections in the WILD PORTFOLIO.
